Cheers to 23 Years

Hello  lovelies, hope your week is going well so far. Mine has been very busy, to start I had finals, but took my last final Monday. Crazy to think that was my last final as an undergraduate. So aside from studying for finals I have been prepping for my graduation celebration and graduation. So an eventful week to say the least and as you can tell by the blog post title I also turned to 23 this week, TODAY! I don’t know about you, but I am not feeling 22 anymore. Another year older, wiser, and honestly blessed. For today’s blog I wanted to reflect on my year as a 22-year-old, what I learned and all. Where to start with 22?

22 was a year of learning to grow as an individual, learning to grow as an individual I would be proud of. As you approach mid-twenties, at least me, you might find yourself a little confused maybe even frightened. It’s that awkward age of old enough to be getting your life put together, but young enough not to, you get me? A little confusing, let me explain my perspective of 22 a little more in-depth. As you approach 22 your either close to graduating undergrad or have already done so, therefore you’re a little stuck on what or where to next. This is how 22 was for me, as I approached graduation I knew what my career goal was, but what and where to was my question. I have learned that by 22 I was barely learning more about myself, what I wanted in life. I made 22 the year to be surrounded by caring and supportive people who would help me and motivate me. The year to re-evaluate my goals and set new goals to strive for, just call me “GOAL digger.”

22 has shown me to be selfish and unselfish, what I mean by that is sometimes it’s okay to shut everything and everyone down for some “ME” time.  Also knowing to be there for those who truly care for you, act by reciprocation. I also learned to enjoy your loved ones to the fullest, because one day it might be too late. Sad, I know, but it’s truth and it’s reality. 22 has taught me to enjoy the little things, the little moments, and to STOP and smell those darn roses (or in my case peonies).

22 showed me that I had another passion I have aside from my career goal, that being blogging. For some reason 22 was the year I decided to just go for blogging. It had been something I  wanted to do for several years, but never went for it. Thank you 22 for showing me to just go for it, even when others might frown or look down upon a passion like blogging.

So lovelies, here is to saying goodbye to the year I was 22 and thanking it for everything. Cheers to 23, may it bring just as much blessings and joy 22 did and some.
